Who you will be working with

Headshot2.png

Kirsten Ulmer is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the founder of Treasure Valley Behavior Consulting LLC, an independent behavior consultation practice serving across the Treasure Valley and Southwest Idaho. She began this work with a strong belief that meaningful behavior support starts with relationships: taking time to understand the student, the team, the classroom, and the people working together to create lasting change.

Kirsten’s consulting style is collaborative, approachable, and grounded in listening first. She partners with administrators, special education teams, teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to build trust, shared understanding, and strong working relationships. Her goal is not only to create effective behavior systems, but also to help school teams feel supported, confident, and connected as they put those supports into practice.

With experience supporting students with complex behavioral needs, Kirsten brings practical school-based expertise in functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention planning, staff coaching, crisis prevention and de-escalation, PBIS/MTSS systems support, IEP team collaboration, and data-based decision-making. She works to make recommendations clear, realistic, and useful for the educators and support staff who carry them out every day.

Through Treasure Valley Behavior Consulting, Kirsten partners with districts in a way that respects local procedures, IEP team decision-making, student privacy, and district authority. Her work is responsive, evidence-based, and grounded in the realities of school settings. She aims to help teams move from uncertainty to clarity, from reactive responses to proactive support, and from written plans to practical tools that can be used day to day.

At the heart of Kirsten’s work is a commitment to helping schools build systems of support that are both effective and sustainable—so students receive meaningful help, staff feel equipped, and teams can move forward together.
